Pages of Hackney - Hackney's local bookshop is coming soon to 70 Lower Clapton Road. The exact opening date is still to be confirmed, but there will be a big party in mid-September. Join the Facebook group 'Pages of Hackeny' for regular updates on progress and upcoming events.

Pages of Hackney is a general local shop, so we'll have something for everyone. An eclectic fiction section; a children's section with a big nod towards the golden oldies us oldies know and love; foreign language literature - Spanish, French, Polish, Italian, etc; some good ol' politics and current thought on hot topics such as the environment, eating well and growing things locally, to name but a few; art and architecture; and some second hand stock for books you never see any more. Also a great line in cards, including many from local artists. And from next Spring, there will be an allotment with veggies and fruit for sale out the back.

This is a small shop, so they can't (and don't want to) stock everything. It's a place where you'll go in and find a book you didn't know you wanted to read until you saw it, or a book you'd completely forgotten existed, or one never imagined would exist. There's some comfy seats, free coffee and entertainment for the kids, so come along, relax, and hopefully find a great read!
